Caroline Gold wrote and
performed her own stand-up and double act material (as half of
Parkinson And Gold) before moving on to write for the BBC radio and
television . She was commissioned to write for 'Heated Rollers', the
celebrated all women sketch show, starring Lynda Bellingham. Other Radio shows she has contributed
to have been 'Hens' for BBC Scotland, and 'So What If I Am?' - where
she was honoured to be the only heterosexual writer in an otherwise
all gay sketch show.
For television she has written for
'Footage And Mouth' for BBC Choice and 'The Score'. She has also
written comedy intros and sketches for music video channels and
comic articles for magazines.
For the stage, Caroline was a
contributor (and performer) in 'Captain Spalding's Splendid Comedy
Show' At The Etcetera Theatre In Camden.
She devised, co-wrote and performed in
'Stages In Time' - a history of popular entertainment from the
music hall to WW2 - which was toured extensively and was part of The
East End Festival for two years running.
Clinically Famous was a hit last
autumn at The New Writers Festival At The Landor Theatre
In Clapham.
Caroline is also an experienced
improviser. Having performed at various venues, including
The Canal Café, Red
Rose Club, The Market Tavern – Islington, The Groucho Club - Soho,
Oxford Uni balls, ‘The Improvised Greek Tragedy’(Canal café
Theatre) and (Weekly) ‘The Cliffhanger Serial’ (Meccano club
Islington) with Mark Thomas etc…
Her
ambition is to write more plays - screenplays - articles etc... In
her spare time Caroline is a keen online blogger.
