A brand new comedy play by Caroline Gold. Performed by Natalie Haverstock.

What's it really like in the Priory?
Famous soap star Beverley's checked in.

See her downfall episode by episode as her soap character went from the nation's sweetheart to the bitch-drunk from hell. When the tabloids turn on you - and the viewers love to hate you - it can really get you down.

Soap plots deconstructed in this searingly funny satire lampooning today's cult of celebrity.

Written by Caroline Gold, acted by Natalie Haverstock and directed by John Voce. Clinically Famous is to be performed at the Gilded Balloon as part of 2006 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Based in part on the author's own autobiographical experiences coupled with an in depth critique of the mechanics of soap operas - this hysterically funny, yet deeply moving black comedy was a hit at London's Landor Theatre's new writing festival earlier this year.

"The pairing of Caroline Gold and Natalie Haverstock is comparable to Victoria Wood and Julie Walters" The Wharf

Experienced (comedy) writer Caroline Gold wrote the piece with the actor Natalie Haverstock in mind given her broad range - which encompasses both high comedy and stark tragedy.

Natalie Haverstock and Caroline Gold are the Julie Walters and Victoria Wood of a new generation of comedy fans!

"This piece was me making something positive and joyous out of a very painful chapter in my life. As such I would like it to do good for others still suffering the terrible curse that is depression." Caroline Gold.

"So funny I nearly shat" Dean Haglund, The X Files
